I draw from the quiet spaces between breath and movement—where horses pause, water reflects, and the land remembers. Using coloured pencil, I work slowly and intuitively, layering light and softness to capture moments of presence and connection.
Much of my work is inspired by the horses and animals I live and work alongside, the landscapes I rode through, and the quiet barns that hold stories of work, weather, and waiting. I’m drawn to scenes that carry a certain stillness—often overlooked but full of life.
Whether it’s a dog’s gaze, a dressage horse in mid-stride, or the way sunlight touches the side of a weathered barn, my intention is always to honour the spirit of what I see. I believe art can be a form of devotion—an offering of attention, tenderness, and reverence for the natural world.
I hope my work brings a sense of grounding, calm, and quiet joy to those who view it.
Here is “Mouse”
a Connemara
with a Huge personality
Finished … and delivered (finished enough I guess – could have done more but the essence of this horse is showing through and doing more may have dulled his personality)
I am still surprised at how much Yellow (wheat & straw colours) I ended up using. My original thought was to not do yellow but somehow it seemed to work.
